Syktyvkar State University
The leading institute of higher education of Komi Republic is Syktyvkar State University named after Pitirim Sorokin.
It was founded in 1971. By the present time, the university has grown into a developed university complex which includes 4 buildings with the main one located on the Oktyabrsky prospect 55; two museums, 3 dormitories, an inn, modern sports complex and other branches.
The whole amount of students is over 7500. The university provides a high-quality education, conducts scientific and research work and has international contacts.
The institute was founded in 1932 and is the most ancient institute of higher education in the Komi Republic. It has 8 departments, a library, post-graduate education centre. The institute is the leading organization of the republic in upbringing the specialists in the education sphere.
