Eternal light
Right in front of the Komi State Pedagogical Institution stands a monument devoted to the Great Patriotic War heroes. There are three stone statues of women representing a sister, a mother and a bride. Before them, there is an eternal light which symbolizes everlasting memory of those who never returned back.
Kuratov Monument
The monument was erected in 1977, sculptor V.N. Mamchenko. Ivan Alekseevich Kuratov is the key figure of Komi history and literature. It is the national pride of Komi people. He was the founder of Komi literature and written language. He was born in the family of a deacon. Kuratov sang praises to his nation in his poems and made it live forever in his great works.
