National Museum of the Komi Republic

It was founded in 1911. You should visit this museum to get acquainted with the history, culture, economics and nature of the Komi Republic. There are archaeological and ethnographical collections, historical and natural exhibit.

House of the Sukhanovs

The monument of stone architecture of XIX century is the House of the Sukhanovs. It was built according to the project of the late XVIII century. The house represents a typical mansion of Russian classicism. It used to serve different purposes. Until recently it housed the National Gallery funds. Now the mansion is being reconstructed and given to the Sukhanov descendants.

National Gallery of the Komi Republic

It was founded in 1943. Komi National Gallery has a wonderful collection of works of art, the whole amount of which riches 7000 items. There are several departments: Christian art, Russian art of the XVII – early XX centuries, Russian art of the XX century, the foreign art of the XVII – early XX centuries, Komi national art.

Geological Museum

The Geological museum was founded in 1968 in Syktyvkar. You can learn here about the wealth of mineral resources of the Komi Republic and also more about the development of life on Earth. This museum is worth seeing! You may visit two different excursions here: “Minerals of the Komi republic” and “Development of life on Earth”.

Working hours:  every day from 9.00 till 17.00, except Saturday and Sunday.

I.A. Kuratov literary memorial museum

It was founded in 1969. The collection is dedicated to the creative work of I.A.Kuratov (the founder of komi literature)

I.P. Morozov home-museum

The museum is situated in peasant’s house of I.P. Morozov. Here you can get acquainted with the life and work of an outstanding politician.
